That said, we feel your review left out several important details about what took place, and we would like to provide some clarification. When you came into the shop, you explained that you had a power steering fluid leak and believed the power steering pump might be the source, although you weren’t completely certain. We provided you with two options: if you were confident the pump was the issue, we could provide an estimate for replacement; alternatively, if you wanted to confirm the source of the leak first, we offered to perform a proper inspection and diagnostic test for $129 before tax. You chose to have the vehicle inspected before moving forward with any repairs. During the inspection, we performed a comprehensive evaluation of the vehicle and specifically focused on the power steering leak. Because there was a significant amount of fluid throughout the area, we cleaned the affected components so we could accurately identify the source of the leak. We determined that the power steering pump was leaking from the front seal and also identified a separate leak at a hose connection. We then provided you with estimates for addressing those issues. We also want to clarify the $8 shop supplies charge mentioned in your review. Shop supplies cover materials used during the inspection and service process, including items such as brake cleaner, rags, and other consumables required to properly diagnose and clean the affected area. This is a standard charge associated with the work performed. Ultimately, we provided the options and pricing before beginning the diagnostic work, and you chose to proceed with the inspection so the source of the leak could be properly identified. We believe we followed the process we discussed with you and provided the information and options necessary for you to make an informed decision. We welcome honest feedback, even when it is critical, and we are always willing to discuss concerns directly. However, we also believe it is important that reviews accurately reflect the services performed and the circumstances of the visit.
